About Us

For more than three generations, the family of George T. Whalen has been providing real estate services in Dutchess and Southern Columbia counties. Located on Franklin Avenue in Millbrook since 1925, their team of professionals have been assisting both buyers and sellers alike with service that only an agency with eighty years of experience in the community can provide.

 

The firm was founded by George T. Whalen Sr. and was located for many years on the second floor of the Reardon Briggs Co. building on Franklin Avenue. In 1955, George Whalen Jr. joined his father in the family business and is still active today. In 1969, the brick building next door to Reardon Briggs was built and remains the home of George T. Whalen Real Estate.George T. Whalen, III joined the family business in 1986. George III is involved with many local organizations and is the third generation President of the Bank of Millbrook.You can trust the agents of George T. George is the third generation owner and principal broker of the agency. He earned his B.A. from Siena College and his MBA from Syracuse University. In addition to being a lifelong Millbrook resident, George is the President and CEO of the Bank of Millbrook, and a sales executive with the George T. Whalen Insurance Agency. He is a Trustee of Millbrook School, a Director of James L. Taylor Manufacturing Co. Inc., and a Trustee of the Millbrook Tribute Garden Inc. George and his wife, Susie, have four children and reside in Millbrook.

Susan R. Whalen

Susie has lived and worked in Dutchess County her entire life, currently residing in Millbrook with her family. She earned her B.S. from Fairfield University. After having four children, she joined her husband, George, in the real estate sales business. Susie has a great love of the outdoors and of horses and is a past board member of the Dutchess County Historical Society.

George T. Whalen IV is a graduate of The Millbrook School and Villanova University. He obtained his real estate license in the summer of 2012 and joined the family business. At present, he is working on his MBA. In his free time, George enjoys helping out on the family farm and golfing.
