The firm was founded by George T. Whalen Sr. and was located for many years on the second floor of the Reardon Briggs Co. building on Franklin Avenue. In 1955, George Whalen Jr. joined his father in the family business and is still active today. In 1969, the brick building next door to Reardon Briggs was built and remains the home of George T. Whalen Real Estate. George T. Whalen, III joined the family business in 1986. George III is involved with many local organizations and is the third generation President of the Bank of Millbrook.
